he gave me

he gave me

A Poem by Joyce S. Greene
"

This is an Ekphrastic tanka, written to present my take on one of Anne Geddes' lovely baby photographs.

"

he gave me

a bouquet of tulips

in early spring

peeking from each blossom

a baby not yet born

What a beautiful poem to accompany such a precious photograph. Anne Geddes is such a talent and so are you.

A very interesting poem. Very creative with the analogy you used about the tulip and the new born. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the new born represents a new hope and a new start to a hopefully everlasting relationship. Great write!

A very clever poem, or should I say Tanka. I am not familiar with the tanka format. I must look it up and have a go myself.

What a beautful thought. I really like this sort of thing and it takes a very sensitive person to bring it into words. Excellent, Joyce.
