Wounded, Broken, Lost

Wounded, Broken, Lost

A Poem by JJWeves

You can't see past your own walls
You can't see me crumbling to the ground
You broke me into millions of pieces
You broke me and I can't be fixed
You tossed me away like a ragdoll
You tossed me into the darkness and I'm fighting to get out
I'm wounded

Why can't you see what you did to me?
Why can't you see the pain I'm going through?
I freakin' loved you!
When you're around, there's no one else there
I can't see anyone but you
You are the one I have loved for so long
You have taken my heart, but you don't realize it
I'm broken

You left me alone
I was dying from the inside out
I took matters into my own hands
I made a few marks, but you never noticed
I made a few attempts, but you didn't care
You just looked through me, as if I was a ghost
Why did I have to fall in love with you?
Why did I have to be so stupid?
I'm lost

love is often blind but stupid? Are we truly stupid to put ourselves out there doing what we were designed to do and that is connect on a deep level with another? Perhaps the choice was a mistake but the act of reaching out is not in itself stupid - which means - no. You were not stupid.
Purging is always good - to get the ache and tears on paper - this piece does that. Its relatable. We all go through this.
