Written For You

Written For You

A Poem by JLily98

Looking at her reflection, hardly fascinated by the sight
Of years passed, no change, until she unknowingly
Stares and locks eyes with you
She'll smile as you start the game
Not realizing she'll win because overtime
She's become her least favorite thing

But she'll notice you
She'll notice how your lip curves when you laugh
She'll notice the way you walk
She'll notice the way you look at her
She'll be able to recognize your voice from anywhere

But when asked what you notice about her
You'll start the game again
And notice
Her eyes remind you of leaves in the fall
From green to brown they change
The smell of her hair reminds you of the ocean
As your hand surfs every brunette wave

The game will continue
Until your smiles meet
She'll familiarize herself with
the gentleness of your hands
As you get to know the softness of her skin

You'll notice her winged liner
becoming thinner
Because she'll no longer want to
Fly away
But by the end of the game
You'll both look away
And realize this was only
written for you...
