Imprisonment

A Poem by Janie Was A Hobo

 Sealed within your amber heart,

I cannot find my lungs to breathe

I cannot find my eyes to see

Nor can I think of a way to be

Entangled here within your hair,

I cannot find the daylight sky

I cannot find the reason why

You have kept me here to die

Trapped within our broken mess,

I cannot find the right words to say

But what of the right words to say?

You would not hear them anyway

Shackled here within your hands,

I cannot find the voice of truth

I cannot find what else to do

Surely I will die in you
