Under the Shadows of Trees

A poem of the cosmos and earth.

If you travel far from the flooding lights

of the big city farm of sleepless nights

You'll find, in a place so dark

In time, from the space you embark

The starry night sky, so full and bright

If only you could fly, you'd be a cosmic kite

Quickly they circle, slowly they seem

to drift through the night, an infinite dream

of planets and stars, the dust on the moon

We'r sailors and stars, with a lust for a tune

Past the moon and the stars

from the mountains to the seas

In the gloom of Mother Mars

I sit under the shadow of trees

I love the contrast, from the bustle of the city to a whole new world (to a dazzling place I never knew. . . sorry, Disney fan) and not only is it about the forest but you depict the sky above as a vast ocean to be explored.
You, my good, sir are talented. While I find it easier to visualize words (than those I live with) it's refreshing to actually have a clear image painted for me.
