We get the love, we think we deserve

We get the love, we think we deserve

A Poem by Jade Stone

I haven't been honest
And I guess it's because I'm scared
I'm so different from them
And I'm scared to be alone
I don't love myself
But I want them to love me
So I put on a mask when I see them

I want this to be about them
But it's really about me
Because I don't love the thoughts that take up my mind
Or the body that holds in my soul
Because I lie to them
Like I lie to myself.

I think we crave love the most from other people when we are the least able to love ourselves. We want others to prove to us that we are worthy of being loved. I've been there and done that, for way too long and wasted too much of my life doing that. I hope you don't do the same. You seem like a smart kid to me :) Hope all goes well for you and wish you many blessings.
