Heart at stake.

How can I say?

That I no longer want you,

How can you listen?

To all my words that begin to hurt you.

How can I feel?

Like it’ll all be fine.

When someone’s heart is on the line,

Is it better to lie?

When one’s heart will only break

When their lives might be at stake,

If it helps to know I did love you,

Does it help to know I’d love to?

But it’s a fact that people change,

And things will never be the same.

One day you’re going to realise,

After all the nights that you cried,

One day you’ll find another,

You’ll forget we ever were.

First off, I love the title..especially after reading the poem. This is sad, but true. I really like the last few lines, "One day you'll find another, you'll forget we ever were" Good write!
