A light blinked into life, illuminating a small patch of the dark room. It shone on a set of damp shoes. It shone on the smart suit of the man holding the lamp. And it shone on the sacks piled at the bottom of the steps...

I love this idea you have of making opening scenes or stories from pictures. It's a really unique idea. Also, the starting to this one is very intriguing, I'd love to see where it goes.

I think you should continue and make it a good short story because the beginning is enticing.
