A Prayer of Thanks

Lord, we come together today to give Thanks

To you for all your many blessings.

We Thank you, for our family and for our friends,

For our jobs, and for our homes.

We Thank you for our health and for the health of our children.

 

Lord, we come together to ask you to forgive our sins,

Forgive our vanity, our greed, and

We ask you to give us the strength to forgive our enemies

And to give us compassion for the poor.

 

Most of all Lord, we are gathered together in praise

And fellowship and remembrance.

Bless our homes and our countries

Keep us safe and keep us humble.

Amen.

amen and amen .. tho i missed the timing for your poem it is timeless .. all the way through the read i was preparing myself for the "turn" ..some bit about our hypocrisy ..or satire on some society .. but much to my peace of heart ..your poem is what it is ..and i love it..loved reading..loved relating and applying it to my moment ..with my own little prayer added to take it with me through the day today and always ..i believe 100% that relationship with God starts with repentance but continues with praise ..just because of who and what God is :)) well done says i! thanks for sharing

Thanks for reading. I never mock my religious beliefs, or those of others and never any satire about religion..sometimes I might go after a some part of the established church, but then its about hypocrisy and not faith. Faith in God is one part of my life that I never question. I'm glad you found this and were able to apply it to your own life.
