A Poem by James McFadyen

Tick a ticking, goes this vascular clock
Upon the mantle of this love enslaved
Where tight-rope balance, precarious,
Is my heart, where upon lost time
The strand is straddled by
The Moirai's cutter
Where if my passions do not
issue forth, I will surely fall
Tumble into the abyss of my sanity.

I stare into eyes madness
And blink, forbid it to spot
my weakness in your presence.
A smile, your eyes, your laugh
Cherished, one and all
Kept in vaulted breast
Your essence flutters in this
My sore, guilt gilded cage.
I want you so much
I'm afraid to lose you.

Can friends, so close
Become lovers, closer?
Can stones in that ebb and flow
Be flung farther? Along that
Cold,coastal stretch
Laid bear is my soul
Upon the variegated shingle
Glistening, weeping everyone
A token of the countless times
I fell in love with you.

As always James sublime poetry with such pathos painted in descriptive verse. A joy to read but hell to interpret?
