Today I must cut ties with all the lies
you've been living in,

I can't pretend any longer,
I must grow stronger and move forward
in my life, without you and the strife,

I have given you the benefit of every single doubt
and every time I'm let down and alone to pout,

You and your lies have completely severed this tie
and I have no more tears to cry,

You have pushed me way to far this time
and I am positive that I don't want you to be mine,
So grab your stuff and get on the grind,

I hope all your lies were worth it
because you and I both know I didn't deserve them,
but they kept coming again and again
and today is the day that it all comes to an end,

I have to do what I have to do and your lies
made me hate you, I'm sick of this misery always blue,

Today I cut ties with you and your lies,

have you ever heard Jumper by Third Eye Blind? Might wanna give it a listen. May sound familiar.....Love the structure and rhythm, but "cut ties with all the lies you've been living in" is a direct "borrow" from that song, which was a major hit single in the '90's so it isn't an abstract reference. I understand some plagiarism is inevitable, but that's far too specific and may stick out the a lot of readers. Great intent and delivery, maybe just some quiet revision.

That's a fantastic song by a good group, I'm not worried about the similarities between
that song and my poem, as you said in your review we all use similar if not exactly the same
words or phrases and anybody that is anybody in my life knows that I would never steal anyone's

regardless of whether or not it was intentional, I pointed it out just because some other reader might be deterred by reading that famous song lyric in the first two lines. Using the exact same phrase as another artist happens, but not to an amount such as you suggest, or at least I haven't read enough parallels to agree. make it yours brother, there are so many ways to say what you need to say, give your voice some time to become itself.

I recently experienced that moment where I no longer felt hate for the person who deceived me, and I know God will make sure that you too will someday be free of hate. For me, the hate was like a protection that kept me safe, kept me from going back to the person, and now I am strong, free of hate, and happily far away from that person's emotional damage against me. God loves us :)

Break-ups are just the logical conclusion of unions that should never have happened.
Still, they're extremely unpleasant and hurt like hell; after all, some close ties almost always develop.
The only thing left to do--as your heartfelt poem so well indicates--is take it on down the road.

If you don't mind me asking what is your take on, better to have loved and lost then to
never loved at all and the saying forgive and forget, just curious? These are to topics I
