Sink or Swim...

Sink or Swim...

Life & Choices...

Sink or Swim...

With life comes trials and tribulations
decisions and choices,

Riffled at us at mach speeds as it sometimes
seems,

As we sit floating in the vast ocean of life
holding our breath to stay afloat,

These trials and tribulations, decisions and choices
continue to title wave themselves toward us like
an out of control typhoon,

Never seeming to ease up as the massive
waves violently crash and crush our lives
like a great white taking a bite out of it's prey,

As the unforgiving lives we live seem to be
swaying with the current we must come to
the simple conclusion,

Sink or Swim,

So much easier said then done
but a conclusion I'm positive all of us have
had to come too in our lives,

Some days I think to myself why continue to
hold my breath and for what,

And other days I think I could not and
will not ever give up my struggle to keep my head
above the water,

As the current pushes and pulls me in any which
direction it chooses, I try to control my thoughts
knowing I have no control of life's crazy and out of
control current,

But today I choose to swim
and today I will pray that tomorrow I will not sink...

Author's Note

Jamestown
Life can be Sink or Swim situations sometimes,
I feel as if I'm going through some difficult current lately,
but God is good and I will swim to shore:)

I believe many people come to these times within their lives especially me lately.I began to question if God gave us a deaf ear but then I had to think back to Job and come to realize that God allows Satan to come at us as He had to Job you did a great service with this write Jamestown I enjoyed reading it.I've been very busy with working lately and haven't wrote much God bless you bro

"But today I choose to swim

That's a very encouraging motto of life. To keep going forward and praying to continue going forward when you feel like you can't.

Even the difficulties are the blessing of the LORD and these blessings are teaching which will help us to grasp the true meaning of life. Keep Swimming!

We all live in a sink or swim
and the very few swim
often we forget those weights hold us down
so we sink
life is simple
we rid our soul of what is not needed
past memories are big weights
gone and dead

Loved the way you ended this poem, James. I guess this is the poem most of us can relate to- struggles we face in our lives. Do check out my latest poem "The Two Mazes", its something vaguely related to this one. Your poem has kind of motivated me in a way right now.
Thanks

Making the choice to continue to fight and never to give up, is always up to us, then He will do the rest.

A powerful and inspirational piece my friend! :D

I knew there was a reason why I felt the urge to log in today. This is why. I have not heard/read anything lately that has resonated with me so closely. It's like you wrote it on my behalf. Brother James, missed reading your work. I have lots to catch up on but I am looking forward to going through your pieces from the last few months. Here's to swimming strong towards the Lord! Peace brother!
