A B On the C

A B On the C

A Poem by Jamie

A B on the C

A bee on the sea

lost from its hive

will eventually flee

to where it can thrive

in a honeycomb home

it will come to rest

but flowers near the foam

it surely likes best

on the land near the strand

it will find nectar

for the rains of the coast

are a blossom collector

a bee on the sea

is an astray insect

By a gust it was fussed

It lost its orientation

But still dreams of the dust

of an orange carnation

It has no leaves of grass

on which to perch for reflection

Greatly it wants to pass on

Its precious collection

So it makes a bee line for the hive

to which it owes so much

And adds its sugar water

nutrients and such

a bee on the sea

will eventually see

if it can make it across the sand

it will be a home free bee
