The flood

The flood

A Poem by Ben Ashelford

Scrutiny across closed circuits.
Service providers under pressure to restrict.
monies lost or stowed away?
copyright beats the right to copy.
the innocent are watched.

Accidental clicking costs freedom.
careless downloading costs lives.
hide behind proxies and strange usernames.
The restrictions will only tighten.
The toxic lie will rise.

Using excuses of terrorists and worse.
Lie to me about my own protection.
make yourself as much as you can.
By restricting my right to explore.
discovery is crippled by liars and thieves.
freedom is drowning.

Pirates and jackels and vultures, you claim.
almost as freely as expensives, it seems!
argue you're right with opposition as bad.
while we feel the brunt of your latest deceitful plan.
the final wave is here.
