Sleepless nights

Sleepless nights

A Poem by Anindita Janhabee
"

Out of sleep...

"

I remember the day

It was raining heavily

And you were all set

To leave the town…

I remember the hour

It was like thorns piercing

At the centre of my heart

As you walked away…

I remember the minute

I felt like I was falling

Into uncountable pieces

For you didn’t even think of me…

I remember the second

When tears shed

From my dark brown eyes

Because you left me alone…

I remember each moment

That passed as I missed you

From the core of my heart

Cause my soul belonged to you…

I remember each night

I kept thinking of you

Being sleepless

And still loving you…

yeah......................
This makes me think back on my life and all the times I've left a place for one reason or another. I was so sad to leave those people and those places. I spent many nights crying myself into sleep missing them.

Your use of imagery here is absolutely beautiful. The way you use time throughout this piece adds to the deep sorrow it expresses. Thorns in one's heart never sounds appealing. Great write.

greatly appreciated...
You used time quite nicely here: day, hour, minute e.t.c Something that covers us all...
Once the heart chooses, it's hard to let go, no matter the hurt and pain that follows.
