Freshly scrubbed floor

Freshly scrubbed floor

A Poem by JanieB

Freshly scrubbed floor

Okay, so this the deal

No dragging chairs across me

No jumping up and down

No cats scratching on me

I’m gleaming you see

All polished and shining

No dust on me now

I look great I know

I smell so fresh

Been scrubbed with fair hands

Lovingly restored

To my former self

Thank you.

I like it! The first stanza is my favorite, a floor with some attitude! Funny. I also like the word choice and image in the last stanza. I wonder where you are?

Haha! This reminds me of my mother. Except, it is from the floors perspective... Fun, odd, and enjoyable. Taking a mundane task and putting a new spin on it is a great form of poetry. Thank you so much. You are a talented writer!
