Then and now

Wrote this a while back

I used to fear that darkness, now i crave its closeness.
I tried to stay awake, now i'll try to get some sleep
I used to waste the time i had, now id rather escape this reality.
I was so carefree and happy, now I hide away inside my head
Then and now.
The me i am now doesnt recognize the me i was then.
Ive grown and ive changed,
still I wear this crazy hair, And a heart on my sleeve.
How funny it seems, that tho i am different now.
Then and now are both still me.

Time and change are something that we can depend on. It is refreshing in way because it gives the opportunity for growth and maturity in every opportunity of life. Even in mistakes and failures a person has the option of choice to learn. Beautiful look at the then and now.
