temples, violets

temples, violets

A Poem by J

a confession of violets
and a storm in half

moon bay. how to say
this closeness defies

all attempts at
definition.

*

perhaps it is you
in this ruin of my body

moments according to
need and temptation

light suffused into
a prism of sharing

and the sorrowful
joy of freedom.

i see a closeness of two people..but it is that in and out kind of love...not only physically but emotionally as well...

a different kind of relationship....when they see each other there is magic, unexplainable..but then it ends...and there are always gaps in between...maybe neither one understands why that is.

i like the movement, layout . ...beat of this poem.

My daughter, with me for the week and visiting from Atlanta, would catch
flowers and leaves and seeds and stones and make patterns and fortresses
on the porch, as a child, always placing the flowers in the center as if something loved,
something you could covet or talk to, would come from deep inside a youthful
idea of safety. This poem made me think of the confessions we make to
flowers and the ones they make to us.

That little girl is 22 now. Her face and hands are larger. Everything is different
, except her laughter, which is exactly the same.

good write, dana

I'm really glad I found these before I went away for the weekend, I have missed reading new works by you.

some connections defy both explanation and identification. Why not listen to the secrets the violets keep?

This leaves me feeling suffused with soft, waning afternoon sunset glow. Freedom can be as much a prison as anything else, depending. But you knew that.

Your work is as excellent as ever.
