So Close, Yet So Far

So Close, Yet So Far

A Poem by Cjb

How can I live so misguided without your magestic light?
Yet I stray in the darkness,
Dancing in your barren smile,
With hopes of one day feeling whole.

Your warmth surrounds me,
yet so cold as the frozen tundra of my soul.
Your eyes pierce the hole at which my heart used to lay.
Beating your name with each lifeless thump.

Crying out into the darkness,
Gazing at my faded reflection in the one way mirror, your eyes.
My compass points east
As yours says west

I can feel your pulse in my thoughts.
Yet you do not breathe.
Your blood is not for me,
Yet the vampire on the other end of the line.

Counterfeit currency.
False qualities you think you see in him,
Are clones of the images of the ones you chose not to see me.
