The alter ego

The alter ego

A Poem by Vesica Piscis

If I had an alter ego
I would write him into a bar fight
With Hank Chinanski
Oh how he would punch me
Right in my mouth
Before I could speak a single word
He would buy me a drink
As a bloodied tooth drops into my whiskey
we would laugh and bang our fists in high spirits
Then as we make our way to the track
Hank would mention the four horse
In the seventh
"Long live the King"
A real winner
He would tell me "I really dig your writing baby"
And I would reply
"You really need some help man"
