We begin at the beginning. SPOILERS CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH MANY SPOILERS

"

Red-and-gold armor glints in the sunset’s light.

A gleaming hammer only two can hold.

Two knives, an illusion, another trick.

Blue and red and white and a round shield.

Spiderweb on red fabric.

A cape that moves on it’s own.

Small one second, giant the next.

A flash of red hair and red light.

Two guns and a black suit for sneaking in the dark.

A bow and a quiver of arrows.

Three hidden safely away, another to come.

Long hair and a metal arm.

A nervous man with the shadow of a monster.

Cat-ears and metal claws.

Tech and snarky comments.

Bald head and a sharp spear.

A strange tattoo and painful memories.

A staff and boots not what they seem.

Books and knowledge, glowing shields.

Half human, half not.

Green and dark memories.

Blue and metal skin.

A tree with no leaves.

Painful past and revenge.

Small and furred with wires.

Dark with a sword.

An unexpected vision.

Six stones.

None prepared.

No one safe.

“It is coming.”

“Soon.”

“Wake up.”

“It is coming.”

I bolted upright, panting. Flashes of the dream still raced through my head. The dream… I thought I’d gotten rid of it when I was fifteen. Ten years without it. Why would it come back now? I remember the words, a familiar voice, something that hadn’t been part of it before.

It is coming. Soon.

Which could only mean…

My dreams were about to become reality.

And it wasn’t going to be good.
