In Another Life

In Another Life

A Poem by Jeremiah Medina

What the hell am I doing here?
Twisting in my mind
Orange clouds in a black sky
Stars of bright green in my eyes
Spotless in my head
Destroying my everything
Can't be helped
No cure for stupidity
Stop breathing for ten minutes
Just to save humanity

Clawing at my face
My eyes just might fall out
A straight jacket too tight
My skin might just melt off

An empty headed venture
From a long, long time ago
Rolling on the pavement
With no place left to go
Time continues slowly
and feet will fly on by
Step over the homeless
Cause they are not alive

Limbs fall off
Neon is the only sight
Freezing to death
On sidewalk in another life

Ticking never ending
Rope around your neck too tight
Chains around your body
Can't escape the ride
Talk to yourself alone
No one can here your screams
Why cant I save myself
Just cant be helped
Was I ever anywhere else

I refuse to leave
What the hell am I doing here?
Can't make me go
Nothing left to fear

Can't find my way
Struggling all I can
I wont last forever
In my make believe land
