Ruined Beauty

Ruined Beauty

A Poem by Jeremiah Medina

In the middle of pure darkness

Slowly the curtains rises

A soft melody begins

In a sullen tone of wonder

The blackness of a tragedy

A screaming beauty awakes the scene

She is a vision

Tears streaming from a pool of pale blue

Her voice rings in despair

Wailing to herself alone

Another approaches

A figure hidden in the shadows

She pleas for mercy

He takes none

A flash of a second

She lies upon the floor

Broken and ugly

Her lover appears from nothing

Falling to his knees

His mouth left gaping open

A sorrowful howl

His voice booms

He falls silent suddenly

Green eyes glowing in the surrounding darkness

Starring apathetically.
