Drip...

Drip...

A Poem by Jeremiah Medina
"

Ever dream of drowning?...

"

The water dances all around you

As your skipping along

A living stone, that has to breathe

Surrounded by those lovely pools

The tears of all of nature

Fill the oceans,

The dead weep the blackest

One single glorious drop

Frozen forever with its brothers

Eternity awaits you

Deep beneath the surface pulls

Under that horizon line

Head under the pressure

The sun is no more

Darkness over takes you

Wishing for that shore

Recall the magnificent beaches...

Sand between your toes

A gentle warming breeze

The suns golden reflection

That dances on the waves...

Within this sight..

Inside those eyes

Within yourself

You find a light...

A spec of acceptance.

A smile at conclusions.

Beauty enlightens.

As you surender...

Bubbles cease,

The water stills.

Time continues

Always will.

Very nice. There's that feeling struggling in the beginning, not wanting to go under the water, and then it ends with the acceptance that there's nothing to do but drown. I love the use of second person in a poem like this, makes it all the more gripping. Great writing!

This was a very well written piece! I greatly enjoyed reading this.

My mood would change with each line
"Darkness over takes you"
sadness
to
"Sand between your toes"
feeling longing for the warmer days.
Great job!
