Oil

Oil

A Poem by Robert Luna
"

These are my thoughts and opinions. Bush is almost out of office but we are still screwed.

"
Building sand castles to the blue skies
Oceans apart drawing battle lines
Two bullies on the same playground
Trying to push one another down
watching the crowd gather 'round
pointing fingers, laying blame
Nothing attracts a crowd like a crowd
and a fight

It doesn't matter whos right
or even who throws the first blows
All this being based on lies
Misery unfolds
Watching our brothers and sisters die
In search of the devils flesh
black gold, Texas tea
Fill it up and let's go for a ride
As THE MAN screams wheres your countrys pride
Looking around seeing children living on the street
and never having enough to eat
I cant help but to feel sad on the inside

Asking What were their war crimes
being born it would seem
One Nation Under God
I would rather be damned
Than be in a heaven ruled by greed
One Nation.One Nation
Oh what abomination
A nation ruled by terrorism itself
The battle is over
But the war has just begun
Left with the mess
of two pricks
f*****g the same land

Cheers, my dear! You are so right! We might end up with a different person in the Whitehouse, but there is no way that anyone can fix this mess in four or even eight years! It baffles me how much damage Bush has done in the last eight years, yet so many people can't even see it?! I guess we can only do our best, and remain hopeful. (That's my positive side....now my negative side says, "YEAH RIGHT?! WE'RE TOTALLY FUCKED!!!) : )

So, you are upset about King George as well? Lol. Who isn't? What a nightmare of an administration! I recently read that the numbers du jour are:

1) 200 CIA Secret prisons, and
2) 32 million interrogations.

Has the whole world gone crazy? I understand that 9/11 was extremely tragic and disconcerting, but the aftermath was worse than the event. 32 million interrogations? Where is Usama? What does Bush have to show for that other than a new "Oil Colony?"

Aigh, caramba! Que loco!

Well written strong, plain and to the point. Powerful eye opening for those who don't have a clue.

hi ,i think ,i am the most here to agree since i am on ground here ,and know whats going on,first ,tis is great write ,second,i think this war will never end any soon ,we will have still long time to talk about it ,and more innocents, being killed everyday, yes the oil ,that enchanting liquid ,believe me everyone here will love that it suddenly dries up ,and then we will have eternal piece ,there will be no war any more in iraq,we finally will be a stable country ,though its population cut to one third ,and everything brought down to the ground ,lovely democracy ,we just could not live without it,so we are dying in thousands for it

O.O ... Well it isn't just Bush who screwed us over, Clinton set the stage for him, but that aside I love the poem and absolutely agree. I really liked the imagery of two school bullies, fighting just because they can. I also especially loved the lines "I would rather be damned/ Than be in a heaven ruled by greed", thoughts like that have been circling my head or awhile now... just not worded that nicely. Anyway, the poem was great and I'm going to steal this for my favorites list. Though there were a few typo's that I saw, I put them below as well as a suggested fix. Great work.

"Oceans apart drawing battles lines"-----to----> "Oceans part drawing battle lines"

"Nothing attracts a crowd like a crowd/ and a fight"-----to-----> "Nothing attracts a crowd like a fight"

"It does matter who's right"-----to-----> "It doesn't matter who's right"

As I said when I reviewed Nicole's piece - Vote for Robert Luna! Yes, things are a mess - I guess to make you feel better, nearly every country in the world has some kind of turmoil - did I just say 'oil'?
The big question though is regarding how the worlds problems are created and how we as people let governing bodies that we vote for make such a mess of sorting them out......

Yes i am in total agreement Mr Rage... what Bush did was nothing more then an act of greed and revenge, to line his and his oil buddies pockets while getting back Hussain for the supposed attempt on his fathers life... and the manner he did it like going against the UN is as far as I'm concerned an act of terrorism too... it's no wonder other countries hate us with such an egomaniac in power. A tremendous vent!!
