Blue

Blue

A Poem by Jenny Davis

Walking along the usual glass

I saw him-

he was breaking

with eyes the color of an overcast

The tips of my shoes clicked and clacked-

remorsefully, I headed back to solid ground

I turned the corner of a memory

and saw him bigger, brighter than ice

Not like now, with time crystallized

and his skin

matching the sky's mood and mine

That was flipping amazing. I loved hearing your voice read your words. I need to find out where I can do that at. This was beautiful and I really allowed myself to become so lost deep in between your words, your voice and the soft music playing in the back ground. You are a bad a*s I must say. I truly enjoyed this and am so in awe with you at this moment.

You can feel the blueness in your words. I hate to see you sad, especially read the lines that describe it. Life is Good. You are a strong woman. Your writing is laced with it, too. Rain..

Hey, thats a really excellent poem. Because of the title I have a Joni Mitchell jazz feel in my head and this certainly adds to it. Also I'm struck by the cool air of this, maybe refreshing, maybe darker undertones with the shattering of a life. I'm sure you will enlighten me!

Oh Jenny, I have been away too long. I nearly forgot how you can captivate your audience with words that fill the page with beauty! I loved the read. Outstanding piece. Oh, and I, too, love how you made the image of the man breaking and then coming back better than ever. Great touch!!

That was amazing Jenny. The music in the background suited the words and the images amazingly. What a treat to read and hear the words spoken.

Jenny, I am so sorry my review was deleted in error. First it posted twice and then when I deleted one, they both disappeared. As I told you, it was wonderful hearing your voice reading this poem! I liked the onemotopeia of the clicking and clacking shoes. Sometimes a memory can bring back sad emotions...emotions that become larger after time has passed. We all tend to rewrite history to a certain extent. Your poem was very enjoyable and so well written. Lydia

Creates a lot of dreary cold imagery, great opening line. I like the way your words create a connection between glass, ice, and overcast. It makes me think of Seattle on a gloomy day. I really enjoyed the live reading too, you have a pretty voice.
