The Choice

Cold wind blows 

Snowflakes glide

Trees bend

Leaves fly

Nature's own way

Of saying goodbye 

 

Dawn is close

The Gate exposed

Allowing the past

To become the present 

 

Not many can understand

The fault at which all stand

Not many know what they need

Built from the greed

To need life

But want death

 

Not many can agree

To live or be free

They choose to define fate

As a way

To send them far away

 

Away from friends

Away from truth

Away from love

Away from music

 

The choice that many will make

Will break the ones who

Are intertwined with ones fate

 

Choose wisely

They say

Choose carefully

They say

 

But whom must make the choice

And whom will be left

To suffer from

The choice

If I may suggest, I'd amend the following:

In the first verse, change nature to nature's

In the 2nd verse, change the 2nd line to "The Gate exposed"

Aside from those two, this is a beautiful poem and a great read.
