Go Ahead, Do This and More

Go Ahead, Do This and More

A Poem by Jessica O.
"

This is directed to my dad. He walked out on Mom and me when I was really little. In the poem, I mention how he blamed Mom for all of our money problems, his drinking, etc. It was his choice.

"

Go ahead

Run, hide

All that meant something to you

Either in past or present

Go ahead

Stun, petrify

Those that were there

But were unknowingly pushed away

All because of your weakness

For that one,

The one that meantMore than just memories

Go ahead

Tell, no, scream

That you hated them

And that you wished they were dead

Go ahead

Walk away, never to return again

Unless the rules forced you to

Which they did

Go ahead

Hate her, love me

Though I am a part of both of you

Go ahead

Blame her for everything

Though it really was all your fault

It all was your problem in the end

Go ahead

Blame her for leading you down

That path that brought you down

Though in reality

You couldn't cope

You chose to escape

In more ways than one...

Go ahead

Let me live without an example

Of what life is supposed to be

Go ahead

Leave me with fear

That I will never be

The person I was destined to be

Go ahead

Teach me the rules

Of how one should never be

Go ahead

Blame her

But remember

You brought it on yourself
