Now That I'm Out

Now That I'm Out

A Poem by Jessica
"

05.06.05 These are my days in High School.

"
I take the lashes across my
face.
I take the torment that does not
erase.
I hold back tears in angered eyes.
I tend to hold in my silenced
cries.
I live to love, but to love I'd
die.
Those ignorant people have taken my
pride.
I wish to laugh, but to laugh is a
dream.
Tears and sadness are the never ending
thing.
I walk down these halls with out
my protective shield.
It's like all against one on my
battle field.
They beat me, taunt me, even in
my dreams.
They take it way beyond
extreme.
I'm scared to say, but one word
It's sad to have a fear of
being heard.

I like this a lot...Good Job

Wow...I'm still amazed by the strength you had to come out in high school. I also really like this poem because it shows a side of you that most people don't get to see because of the "tough" demeanor you put off. I love the honesty of the poem. You are writing from the heart and sharing such deep emotions yet it doesn't come off as you feeling bad for yourself or asking for sympathy.
