Burning Neverland

Burning Neverland

A Poem by revolution9
"

Pensive

"

The machine is growing

Destruction of paper hearts and plastic dreams

Before you know it everything that you thought was good is gone

They lie when they say the good die young – we’re still here

Hope becomes paranoia

Leading to shooting brothers that look the part

It’s time for change

Time to clear the haze

Time to cool the friction

To open the guarded valve of freedom

________________________________________________________________________

The line between heaven and hell becomes a blur

The cure for this disease is out of reach

Lost forever with no search and rescue team in sight

What matters most at this point

Is exactly what hasn’t been

The future seems to display elements of the past

We are just spectators at a circus

With our strained courage

Our hopeful thoughts and our assumptions that someone will fix it

If only we could all be that someone

Will we always say we tried?

It just starts and spirals out of control. You counter balanced everything. It's life in as many aspects as one person can think and there really is no one to fix it. Great job!

It's time for change
Time to clear the haze

I love that you put a line in the middle of this and then said.....

"The line between heaven and hell becomes a blur"
That was great! This poem said a lot to the reader and to America.

Thanks for sharing Jessica!
