A lonely reflection

A lonely reflection

A Poem by Jessica Gillitzer

I think I'm alone
a lonely skipping stone
ripples reminders i am, that I am at all
crawling up walls
it's now not being able to look upward
careful not to say another word
but I always do
like there was a special notion I could imbue
forgetful of my selfish nature
vanity false but a good temporary suture
special compromises to keep me prisoner
but they argue it's just the origin of her
I can't get through secondary glances
it's a promise the her in the mirror dances
I don't remember looking
but these days I'm lonely even through the glass
