Eyes

Eyes

A Poem by ElizaB

A glimpse
At the corner;
A swish
Of gold.
A green eyed,
Black eyed,
Dead eyed soul...
It is me.
Running;
Always
Running,
Toward the sea,
Away from those eyes
That look
Straight through me.
To
Hide the shame,
The tears,
To
The pain.
Breathe through it
Again,
In night,
In day,
In rain
And
Wish for someone
To take it away.

Well done, can really feel the emotion, sometimes we cannot escape but need to accept what we cannot change🌹

Moving write. I feel the longing, for those special eyes that reflect the same longing, and are satisfied in the oneness.

A raw, gut-wrenching poem. Such rich imagery and pure emotion conveyed in this piece. "Dead eyed soul" is what hit me the hardest, and stuck with me until the end. Still, hope comes through... "running, toward the sea"... the human spirit alive.
