Rain Is A Good Thing

I watch the rain fall down

Good things it will bring

Washes away all the hurt,

Hurt that I’m feeling when you’re hurt

‘Cause half of my heart belongs to you

That it would never be complete without you

 

Each rainy night I remember you

The way you tell me that same old love story

Listening and looking at you while lying at the same bed

Sharing one blanket of love

 

Those rainy night were worth remembering

Rainy night when you were there with me

Rainy night when you said you love me over and over again

And rainy night when you left me forever

So here I am watching the rain wash away all the hurt.

I admit it, I love rain, the scent, the sound, the way it feels on your skin and hair
It makes the plants greener and the world seems cleaner. I live in the Arizona desert, so we don't see that much rain so I never tire of it..
Your poem makes me remember sitting, going through old papers and photographs while listening to the rain thrumming on the roof and remembering . . .

Rain, a beautiful and romantic subject to write about. It always gives me a sense of revival when it rains. Your memories with it are painted nicely here.

I only like rain when I'm indoors but reading this, it makes me feel that rain can be comforting in a way too. There is also the loneliness that is depicted in the poem which ends of with a painful feeling. Reminds me of sad love stories and endings. Although it's written in a simple way, it is really heartfelt. :)
