Little Candle

Little Candle

A Poem by j
"

"

A lonely little candle glowing

       bravely casting flickering light

between the shadows of a

painfully dark world

       defining, defying the night

Wax overflowing deeper into the wick

leaving a meager flame struggling

      to live

But even a little candle deserves great honor

for “a candle only shines in the dark.”

The rage and hope of brilliant red... a beckoning distinct... a listen to me, a cry to note and understand, however, whatever, but must.

Yes, even the smallest gift, the grain of sand, the single petal, needs what it gives.. presence.

Dear J. you'v alwus mined for gold.. and found it.

Jill, this could be a metaphor for so many things that need to be set right. So compact and elegant, and gentle, as only you can do.
