Snow-and-light;

Foresight; and it happened just like this.

I can see myself lying horizontally, 

awake and light-blinded by the sun-and-snow 
                           white against the window, 
and I can feel the cold seeping in through the log doors, the covers 
                               holding you closely against me like the lovers 
                                                                    we are, 
                                     your eyes opening with a start 
                                   and a smile that sends my heart 
                                                  racing as I’m closing the space, 
                                                                  leaning in to taste 
                                              your lips while the snow-and-light looks in 
                                                    as I’m breathing you in and out again.
