Forced Identity

Forced Identity

A Poem by Jodie Straker
"

This is a personal reflection on society in the modern age and how everybody is influenced by different people. It is how people don't grow up to become who they should or want to become.

"

The end will come,

Not only you but all,

Under the rule of thumb,

Finishing with a brawl.

Messages through the sky,

Reading upon the hill,

Sending those to die,

Then gaining a secret thrill.

Read this as a fable,

So the child is shaken,

So the wrongs they can label,

But the moral is mistaken.

For violence they are keen,

Forever hungry for war,

For the sites that could be seen,

Proving their not a bore.

Judged in a society,

Where no body is equal,

Creating an anxiety,

For the next sequel.

In a world of constant fear,

Of no public love,

Stand out and we will jeer,

Then emotions you shove.

Take nothing for granted,

And live as big as you can,

Keep your feet planted,

And try to be the better man.

Told to mature and grow,

Because of our obscenity,

So others we can show,

What is our forced identity.
