Her

Her

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Every time I see her I cant explain
the fever boiling through my brain
my palms get sweaty my heart is racing
I can feel my blood running through my veins
I am in love and I am not ashamed
like a little kid wearing his shirt with spaghetti stains
I have never felt this way before
my feelings are battling it out like a bloodshed war
but I already know love will come out victorious
this feeling, makes me feel as if I'm notorious
she brightens my day
she makes my heart race
she puts a huge smile on my face
I can't help but think about her all the time
hoping she's fine, hoping she will be mine
she has my head reeling
I can't fight this feeling
my tough outer shell is peeling
she brought the emotion out of me
and its pouring all over this page like the beautiful sea
she has the power to make my heart smile
but also to make it bleed
But I am willing to risk the pain and sorrow
because i know there is always a brighter tomorrow
but she is the one who can bring out the sun in all my days
I'm trying to figure out how I can have her but I'ts like I'm stuck in a maze
but I know i'll figure it out because I'll do anything to make sure she's mine
I know many people are after her love and I am not willing to wait in line
I plan on jumping ahead and going for it all
hoping she picks me up if I miss the cliff and fall
