Fragile Hope

Fragile Hope

A Poem by John Phoenix Hutchinson.
"

Outside a strong hardened adventurous man....inside a fragile soul seeking redemption.

"

Hard muscular man the outside layer.
He can climb mountains, swim across lakes, bath in fountains.
He can jump a horse high and ride hard fast fast - faster.
High wind, heavy rain will not stop him
Adrenaline rush, pushes the adventurer.

Inside - the mind a crashing sea.
A body afloat grabbed by the tides.
Flung upon rocks time again.

Inside - the heart a burning flame eternal.
The light salvation in silvered glass.
A fragile hope.

Alone, so lonely now.
A Tear his master.
Escaped in slumber.

AWAKE AWAKE!!
All tears, are not a sadness.
Remember the joy.
Remember the lesson.
Protect- Fight for the fragile hope.
The Mind a sword -The Heart a shield.

I so love it when that hidden masculine is open for viewing. Truly a rare glimpse of the male psyche. Always so guarded and closed

I think that we see the stone facade so often that we tend to dismiss anything beyond it as fairy tale.

A really beautiful piece and I am glad that I happened by. (Yeah! My high brow reason for being here was I saw the mooning pumpkin on my feed.) thank you.

Kudos for such intimate knowing of your inner male. Not all can make such a claim!

I love this! I really adore how you describe that even though the man look though on the outside, he is really very fragile on the inside!

That sounds great! I really know how it feels to be fragile!
The mind a sword, the heart a shield- love that. Great description, bringing out the many sides to a man.

I like the contrasts in this piece and sense the delicate balance between the inner and outer parts of ourselves. Very well written.
