Wishing Well

Wishing Well

A Poem by J.R. Asor_28

I stood by you
And looked down
I saw nothing, not even the ground
I heard nothing, not a sound
I took out a quarter
And closed my eyes
I tossed it in your water
Beneath, it lies
I wished in my mind
And you shined
Beside me, she's in sight
I thanked you with all my kind

Some of the wording is a little hard to follow, along with your past and present tenses. Overall I love the idea of this, though! :)
