These hurtful words

These hurtful words

A Poem by Rayne Droplette
"

This is about being hurt. About how insults remain while physical wounds fade.

"

I am seething with hatred

This anger will burn until I'm dead

Why do people say such hurtful things?

When they know it will never stop hurting

I'd rather be punched then insulted

The bruise will fade and go away

But the words will seep into my skin, and revolted

I know I can only hope and pray

That those nasty words will cease to exist

I'm ending this poem with only this,

While cuts and bruises go away

These hurtful words will always stay.

All my life my Dad beat me, and in turn, I beat my brother. I never ment the things I called him, and each time my fist crashed into his gut, or my hand went across his face, I wished I could be harming myself instead. I hurt him in ways I cannot understand, and inflicted him pain that will never go away. I only did it because Dad broke me, and I needed to break someone else to feel stronger. I cannot tell you how to erase the pain, but this is why people hurt others: because they hurt too.

I feel this way! All the time. Especially when people call me a 'ginger'. I just want to scream at them, "Who gave you permission to be a d****e?!?" But the topic was executed with class, and was definitely a job well done. Stellar. Rating 100/100
