A Winter's Night

A Winter's Night

A Poem by Jordan

Old Man Winter is out and about
Making his presence known to the mortals of this land.
He reaches out his hand
And the icy wind blows
Freezing to the bone.

The stars glitter brightly,
Winking down slyly.
From the velvet sky
Sharing a secret only between you and they.

The wind has a bite
That only comes about this time
And, for some, it causes the bones to ache
And trees to break.

Yet there is a stillness
There is a beauty
The air fills with love..
and even from above
Comes kisses in the form of snowflakes.
