DreamsA Poem by JoséNEOSome Dreams, are left unlived
I once dreamed about being famous
Being the shining star in a dark sky Thinking this would make me courageous That I’ll never live in an alley They once dreamed about my future One of a common man-working hard with his hands They saw their dreams as a suture Mine they saw as if they where badlands Followed my dreams I did Leaving those I loved for dreams Trying to be like El Cid Even if they end up in streams I knew it was my destiny Being the one to change this world But could I do that with such an elegy? That saddened this horrible underworld Nobody left to truly love me All left behind by yours truly Left to swim alone at the sea I can’t escape my cruelty Now I dream about being a common man Giving up on his dreams for the best Instead of being consumed by his own Demons Nothing left of the old man I was Just the Demon that lays inside © 2017 JoséNEOAuthor's Note
