Temptation

Temptation

A Poem by Jqjohnson

The frustrations are burning
Fire fills his eyes
An angel is dying
Heaven gently cries

The serpent is trying
Begging for your soul
Look way down deep
Diamonds are made from coal

You know not what he is

Sparks will draw your eye
Smoke will cloud your brain
Step one foot closer
Your life is down the drain

Resist all the urges
It's harder than it sounds
One drop of darkness and
He will drag you down

You think you know who he is

Use him once and see
The pain is astounding
His grip has got you now
Listen close and hear him counting

3...2...1...

His name is Lucifer
The king of the damned
Not quite what you pictured
He can consume any mortal man

Now take this light He gave you
Grab your Fathers hand
Escape the lord of darkness
Leave behind the damned

Whoa.
That was a brilliant story. You could still tell it was poetry, but you could read it look a book. Bravo!
