Feeling Germicidal

Feeling Germicidal

A Poem by Judy Ponceby
"

Viral misery...

"

Bacterial
Viral
Misery.

Capturing
My
Soul and Spirit.

Bringing me down.
Down to the ground.

Invisible terror
wreaking havoc
on my body.

Spreading doom
and gloom.

So miserable
I wish I could die.
So unfortunate
as to be unable to.

Oh, the pressure,
the pounding,
the drainage,
the floundering.

Will it not go away,
So I may see yet another day,
Where the sun will shine
And I can feel fine.

I truly hate being
this Germ's
B***h.

Wishing you good health and a stronger immune system! Bless! I thought this was cute...especially the ending...smiling through the misery...I so relate.

Homemade chicken soup and tea with a bit of whiskey and a lot of honey. Best cure to clean the germs and poisons out of the body. I was sick. Medicine didn't help. Went to Grandma tonic and kicks out the bad sickness. A very strong poem. I agree with the last line. A outstanding poem.

Judy you have penned well the misery of how we feel when a virus attacks our human bodies......well done!

Thankfully, Judy, you wrote this a while back.
The somewhat grim narrative is handled well, poetically--and the "tough guy" ending is surprising, yet perfectly appropriate.
Another intriguing piece.

First thing, let's kill the critters! Sending healing spirit your way, Judy. Well-captured, with a punch at the end.
