Dear Santa,

Dear Santa,

A Poem by MsJewel
"

my wish is for every child to have a Merry Christmas

"

Dear Santa,

I won’t be home this Christmas; you’ll see the house is dark

I’m in the tiny tent on the corner in the park

We don’t have Christmas lights or a Christmas tree

If it’s not too much to ask, would you please look for me?

I’ve made a little list for my brother, mom and dad

I’m not asking for much, but mom’s been awful sad

I know she misses home and her friends, I suppose

but you will make her smile, if you bring her a red rose

Daddy brought her roses a long, long time ago

but they’re hard to find in the ice and snow

Daddy never asks for much, he’s harder to buy for

and since he lost his job at the hardware store…

He’s been a little grumpy, but he’s really very nice

Don’t put him on the naughty list, check it once or twice

And please help him find some work…any job will do

If one of your elves is tired, he could work for you!

Then there’s my brother Sam, he’s only three years old

so he gets scared in the dark and sometimes he gets cold

I think he would really love a cuddly teddy bear

and I’d like one Santa, if you have one more to spare

Merry Christmas Santa, thank you for all you do

I know I’ve asked you for a lot, but I believe in you

I hope it’s not much trouble, to find me in the dark

Remember, I’m in the tiny tent on the corner in the park

Love, Sarah

This is a re-write of a poem I posted last year. I thought it was worth reposting as a reminder our homeless population is growing and an alarming number are children. There are many charities such as Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child, the Goodwill and the Salvation Army that need volunteers. Whether it’s donating food or a gift, giving your time, saying a prayer, or sharing a smile…it all makes a difference ~
Happy Holidays to you and yours. :) Julie

This is a powerful write Julie, heartbreaking but so real. I live in a country where every traffic light has someone asking for something to eat and our homeless camps are growing by the day. The hollow and emptiness in the eyes is what make me sad, you can see they have lost hope. Blessings to you.

Thank you for your kind words. Happy Holidays! :) Julie
Julie, if I could, I would give every child my home for Xmas and make sure they had a day to remember, I wish I could help - and I do, every year - I donate money and my old clothes etc... Every bit helps, eh? This is truly amazing and shows what an outstanding person you are.

Thank you for stopping by! Happy Holidays :) Julie
yes, let us never forget those who haven't---
christmas has become so much about materialism...
but it is about heart and love...

and this poem reminds us of that...
