Sea Dreams

Sea Dreams

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ a beautiful afternoon at the beach ~ just scribbling ~

"

For whatever we lose (like a you or a me) it’s always ourselves we find in the sea

.…e.e. cummings

Sea Dreams

On sapphire seas that ebb and flow

with waves that dance under the glow

of bright sunbeams in shades of gold

weaving the dreams I cannot hold

yet draw me in, gently surround

the one who is willing to drown

in gems of light and fantasy

far, far too deep for eyes to see…

Where all is calm and the embrace

of peace will fill the empty place

that found my heart...now I regale

in these waters where I set sail

in carefree drift, much like the tide

I rise,

                                                                I fall,

                                                                                and still I glide

though never quite reach sandy shores

where castles of forevermore

stand fragile as the dreams once made

Perhaps I’m simply a mermaid…

Another, certainly one of my fav. poems.

Yes, love's what that draws romance to hearts', saves their heartbeats to world, makes 'em feel oft. familiar with dreams, & that always takes hopeless romantic spirits to "Sea-Dreams". It's even the love that makes choices & options ... to be lived along. What a beautiful poetry it is! Enjoyed reading it to the fullest.

I love this. Living near the sea all my life, I can really appreciate how your words are infused with these sensations, awesome word choices & rhymes & rhythm seemingly set to the rocking of a boat, as if the mood carries one here & there thru-out your message! *smile* Fondly, Margie

dear Julie, A mermaid captured by a dream
of a handsome Captain looking for love,
swayed by notions of the sea. She saw him
from afar, he was hypnotized by a fallen star.
Beautiful poetry. truly, Pat

Yes, I believe you were a mermaid in a past life....a mythical creature full of wonder.

I have always been drawn to the sea, and because I (thankfully) live close enough, I am there often.

This piece ebbs and flows just like the waves upon the shore and your carry your reader along, gently lulling the reader with your lovely words.
