Sea Dreams

Sea Dreams

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ a beautiful afternoon at the beach ~ just scribbling ~

"

For whatever we lose (like a you or a me) it’s always ourselves we find in the sea

.…e.e. cummings

Sea Dreams

On sapphire seas that ebb and flow

with waves that dance under the glow

of bright sunbeams in shades of gold

weaving the dreams I cannot hold

yet draw me in, gently surround

the one who is willing to drown

in gems of light and fantasy

far, far too deep for eyes to see…

Where all is calm and the embrace

of peace will fill the empty place

that found my heart...now I regale

in these waters where I set sail

in carefree drift, much like the tide

I rise,

                                                                I fall,

                                                                                and still I glide

though never quite reach sandy shores

where castles of forevermore

stand fragile as the dreams once made

Perhaps I’m simply a mermaid…

Another, certainly one of my fav. poems.

Yes, love's what that draws romance to hearts', saves their heartbeats to world, makes 'em feel oft. familiar with dreams, & that always takes hopeless romantic spirits to "Sea-Dreams". It's even the love that makes choices & options ... to be lived along. What a beautiful poetry it is! Enjoyed reading it to the fullest.

Yes..dive right my friend...the water is lovely! :) Julie
The ocean calls those rise and fall in fantasy and its mystery. When combined with drifting, the twain will be lost in oneness. Gorgeous...:)........

You are welcome encouragingly .....:).....
The Sea of Love. No place so calm, tranquil and life affirming but also no place so rough and choppy and life threatening and if we dont go into the water what then? Safety , maybe but denying yourself one of the greatest pleasures this life has to offer. You are no land-lubber Julie as this clearly tells us.
Excellent writing my friend.

A Mermaid indeed. The beach is one of my greatest places where there is no time.

No time, just the ebb and flow of tide on a soft, salty breeze. :) Julie

It's magic!
How I love and miss the sea... and your words create such magic in metaphors... There is a sweet tenderness in the loving here... blissful and tranquil.. like an enchantment... So beautiful.

There appears to be a little more than simply musings upon the beauty of the ocean in this piece which appears to question the very role of the protagonist and her oneness with the world and nature?
A story told with eloquence.

Sorry about the typos I wrote it from my phone but I corrected them.
perhaps you are, but your work tells us you are one superb poet, Julie... this piece exudes peace and calm and reflection that inspires one to look inside and find peace within the storm... 'i rise, i fall and still i glide' - the ebb and flow of human tides still manage to keep us afloat if we can find that peace even though we may never reach sand castle shores... this is gorgeous and what a beautiful painting...

Perhaps.
Perhaps just a daughter of the sea.
I can't imagine how you could survive without the sea at your back door.

This poem is absolutely amazing.
Pure delight in every line.
Every verse.
