Chasing Cars

Chasing Cars

A Poem by MsJewel

Speedster, by Porsche.  Born in '75, like me.

                        Challenge me, if you wish

                        but tell me this…

Gentlemen, when you start your engines do they return the favor?

I don't know what to expect of you

                        yet

                        I demand everything of you

                        Even the impossible

                        because you encourage it

Men chase women they have no intentions of marrying

dogs chase cars they have no intention of driving

                        You think you fool me

                        but I like your deceit

Rotten as the apple fallen from the tree

No James Dean here to lend me his coat

                        but you fuel my hunger…

                        delightfully naughty

                        And…

                        You could love me

                        under the starry sky

                        Silky and smooth,

                        my skin like liquid moonlight

                        And still….

                        I would leave you

naked and trembling in the backseat

                        Wishing

                        you were chasing cars

now this was a "Friday night" poem... powerful and steamy... while I never woke up in the back seat naked, I did like to chase cars.... but alas, they were always too fast and got away before I could bite their tires... er.. sorry, my wolf totem spirit took over there for a minute... lol...

about the poem... did I mention powerful and steamy???? so a Porsche huh, sleek, silver streak rolling down the street but Julie, the back seat was way to small for an adventure... but in '75, my 58 chevy… well... er… never mind... lol..

seriously, I enjoyed your poem and all your "naughty delightfullies"....
Glad I found this poem as I have missed reading your poetry Julie...

Men chase women til the woman (or women) that that really wants them turns and catches them. The softly purring heat ...of the Porche AND woman... draw like flame to a moth.

You are too kind. Thank you for the generous compliment :) Julie
Va room... boom, boom... ack, screech. splat! bunny just ran into a telephone pole with his 1969 gremlin hatchback, staring at that fancy Porsche driver:) Sexy write love the dialogue flow just draws me in natural, very neat trick! you have a transcending voice. Throw in a great visual presence and you are the complete package in this write! I don't even mind having to wear a neck brace after they extricate me from the back seat.

WOW! You steamed up the windows with this one! Well done. I love how classy yet sexy this is. You have a way with words that is for sure and you always pick the perfect picture to go with it! I love it!!!

Streaming with speed and flash I seen the dogs get crushed by the cars and expensive vet bills about 1700 Bucks to fix the pet Golden Retriever They fixed him and he's still with us today.

Ms. Jewel I tip my awkward hat to you, truly you find truth, and bit of humour to offset the overall motif

Thanks so much Jim :) Julie
For the Alpha males this is fuel for their engines! All others are left under the rear tire or choking on exhaust. Such vivid images and sensations in your words, and the self assurance in each stanza is artfully portrayed. Love the pic and the last stanza!

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the kind review. :) Julie
It is such a good and risqué poem although I have never had sex, I could tell. But the picture portrayed as a theme is really inviting and brings to the mind only one thing.

Julie,
I love this poem. It has bite, attitude and I'll call the shots around here. I could see Shania Twain singing your words. Great imagery, you rocked this one!
Joyful Blessings,
Richie b.
