In the World of Make Believe

Just a poem about...Well the world of make believe that covers the real world in my mind.

Swaying trees drop golden apples from their braches, shedding leaves in their wake.

Nymphs with skin as green as the sea blink their yellow lashes.

Pastures golden with the sun feed the wild horses.

Hollow oaks make good fun when squirrels come out to play.

 

Mermaids swim in seas of red as blood runs through the water.

Demeter shakes with anxious quakes to protect her virgin daughter.

War stomps its mighty foot as Ares makes his move.

Death and dementia take their toll on the helpless creatures.

 

Galene and Aegaeon fight to the death one with peace one with hate.

Poseidon fights with all his might to make the sea peaceful.

Zeus strikes with thunderous grace that makes the fates frightful.

All is calm in the world of make believe once again.

Candy canes stand in forests along the yellow brick road.

Satyrs chase the nymphs in golden pastures.

Centaurs run in herds with happy children running behind.

Because all is calm in the world of make believe.

If only we had the power to create the world the way we would like it with our imaginations. This does happen sometimes, either in the real world or a world of madness that we create in our own heads. Great poem.

I though it was pretty funny that even in the world of make believe their exsist war And violence. But anyhow good piece of work. I also enjoyed the part about the Greek God's waging war against each other.
