REFLECTIONS ON WINDOW

REFLECTIONS ON WINDOW

A Poem by prachi prangya agasti
"

memories are stronger than reality

"

I mournfully yet fondly gaze

Through fancy lights on faded glass

With happy scenes of other days

And short lived pleasures of the past

I glue my nose to the window panes

Seemed to paint with youthful laughs

I see the silver drops fall down

Two friends running and chasing

Madly and crazily splashing the rain

The moment then passed like childish tears

Throwing me back on bygone years

I sighed and see the lights flicker

Smiling teens visiting new places

A canoe trip, or trek in the woods

Birthday smiles and wedding gathers

The scene faded as I tried to capture

Like love in the hearts and lover’s dreams

I found myself back to the murmuring

Gluing my face to the glass that viewed

In the stain glass window, I looked

Two love birds’ arms around each other

I remembered the feeling of my love,

The relationship fading without a goodbye

I held my composure and tried to sigh

But I fall to the floor still looking

Through the reflection into the window

I adjust my teardrops fall from the sky

But feelings are forever written

On a scroll inside my heart

Through the window afraid to look out,

Memories to remind but I knew

Through the reflections of the window

The pain lingers inside

I enjoyed reading this work. Its worth, when you're missing the moments, you want to live again. But you can't. We all wish to go back but here's the truth, those happy moments bring tears to eyes.

you never disappoint the reader...

I glue my nose to the window panes----> nostalgic and realistic line...
The relationship fading without a goodbye----> too contemporary..
Yes... there is nothing called a relationship now a days.... it's just.. nothing...

Good work... really good one.

Memories...Aaahh...
So much hidden in those letters, and when we start writing one poem is also not enuf..

I think everyone could relate to this one..
Coz we all...have a part inside us, which want something to be like before..

I loved the end words...

'Through the window afraid to look out,
Memories to remind but I knew
Through the reflections of the window
The pain lingers inside'

Very nicely penned :)

Wow prachi, love this one! Very close to home, reminds me of the memories of my sister and how reality is still reflected back in life no matter how hard we try to see a different view. Going in my library....

That is one amazing poem! So lyrical, the words just roll off my tongue... I love how you've used the window as the "doorway" to the memories... the imagery is vivid and beautiful... you've done a really amazing job :)
